The smudging is a bit rough. It's got a bit too much distortion.
Version 1 is better as you can read the text easier, but I'm not sure if that font is the best choice. It's a common font to use.
They both look pretty intense though you should try to make one of them glow like the beam coming out and the visor :D probably the button on the glove. and yeah try to ease up on the distort. :]
I agree with Nutter smudging is way to rough. Birth of a Hero is overused and doesnt work that well on this sig and lighting is kinda off. This could use alot of work. I like the effects you did samus's charger btw.
yes emphasize more on the effects u did to samus' cannon. it looks super hot =D
the smudging could be a bit more improvised, perhaps toning it down a bit, blending it a bit better. its really that blunt and rough :\

Everything looks good from the right over..Could use some more smudge..Just clean it up and it would look great..Nice job.
