The second Rukia one is cool. The text is kinda like a badge. :D
It's pretty empty and clean, but that gives it a really nice simplistic look.

The sprite one isn't appealing to me at all. I just find it hard to like the colours. :(

Adding Borders
1: Create a new layer on top of the image.
2: Press Ctrl + A
3: Go to Edit->Stroke
4: Select a border pixel width, a colour, inside and click ok
5: Remove your selection and you have a nice border :D
Extra: Use the resize tool to extend thick borders past the canvas boundaries. This will create the Bars look.

borders make me vomit :\ hence why i never use borders myself
