I am working on the lightening effect but do tell me frome ur experience if my this work is ok or not?

Lol. A sig about me, I'm flattered.

For starters, when you use the render, please erase the symbol. It is un-needed. Also, your sig is extremely empty. I can understand that your new to PS/GIMP so I would advise to look at some of the tuts the Void has to offer :3

I agree with Takken. There are some really cool/basic tutorials, I would check them out. A few tips;
- When re-sizing your render, always drag from the corner AND HOLD SHIFT AT THE SAME TIME. This will stop your render from looking squashed.
- Erase the the symbol (as Takken said). It is unnecessary and distracting.
- Try using some different effects and experiment with the PS filters.

everything tak and dom said is extremely crucial. i would also add to not invert your render, it gives it bad quality and strange colors, therefore losing its most important features.

download some more brushes, you will need more effects in the future.

+ Good use of the pen tool

- Inverted colour effect doesnt look nice
- Text is pretty hard to read
