Since the pc is busy, i decided to go around the city and take sm pictures from my n72

What do you think?

Second try at photography.

As you've said its only your 2nd try at photography, so i dont want to be too critical, but there's a few issues that you might want to take into consideration for next time you try taking photos.

1. the subject - use something visually appealling and dont make your image too busy
2 Focus - In your photo there's nothing thats really in focus. If you're shooting without a tripod or something to provide stability for the camera, use a faster shutterspeed to avoid camera shake. Find the subject you want to focus on and ensure you have it in the sharpest detail possible. Newbie methods often involve auto focus which is fine, but i much prefer manual.
3 Depth of field - If you want to isolate part of your picture then use a shallow depth of field (ie. What parts of the image are in focus and what aren't). You can do this by either using a larger apature (smaller stop number) or changing the distance between you and the subject.
4 Framing - Think of whats going to be in your image. There's methods (such as the rule of thirds) which help to determine how much to fit in your picture and where you want the focal point to be. Its hard to explain, easier to show but it comes with practice.
5 Exposure - If you look at your picture, the sky is completely overexposed and theres no detail of clouds etc. Unfortunately in the lighting situation of your image its not possible to expose for both the trees and the sky because there's such a big difference in their brightness. The best thing you can do is use some kind of flash unit. That way you can use the flash to correctly expose the foreground and the shutter speed to correctly expose the back.

I hope some of this advice helps, photography is a great thing to get in to and once you get the nack of making great photos they really are something to be proud of :)

Not a bad try buu. But next time try and make sure the focus isnt so soft.
The sky is a bit blown out, so when you expose for the picture if you have to set the middle focus point on the sky and then compose the shot, that way you can not have any blonw out spots.

INtestesting subject and not a terrible pic, but it could use some work. I wanna see more from you dude!

Thanks for the advice. And yah i love photography, but there is a little twist there. I dunno whats shutter speed or w/e :( and its not a proffesional or digital camera its the oldest model fo nokia N72 :P.

But i agree with the framing and subject part, Thank you for taking you time and revealing mistakes :)

And you are right, now that i see it here, i went a little overboard in photoshop.

if you like photography, its deffinitely worth getting yourself a digital SLR ;)
