I love the text and the effects on the guns, the background works with the character but im not so sure about the lighting and the characters blending into the background

Well for the lighting since you can see on the character that the light is coming from the top right you could use a soft brush and white colour over part of his head and part of his body and see to it that it doesn't stand out to much, lower opacity, soft light layer style bla bla bla. About the blending you could try and either erase the outlining of the render so that it looks like hes abit apart of it or you could try and get some of the effects you used on the background and let them fade over the render (is that understandable?).

blah that was alot of text ope it makes sense :p
