thanks for posting ! ...it took me ages to master the pen tool .. even now when im using illustrator i still find it tuff :P

you mixed up photoshop pen tool and illustrator pen tool, you cant have mathematical calculated graphics in photoshop. And the "spots" that control the curve are called bezier handles :) You should have explained more about the shape path too, and the work paths, how you can make a selection or how you can use the same path again by choosing it from work path.
