By big white spot, do you mean the bit on the shell?
It was meant to look like the light reflecting off the shell but i can tone that down a bit.
I like the left side, helps create the depth and stops it looking cramped with effects

Here, a removed some of the brightness from the shell, also made the background a tad brighter:

nice use of colors, and as everyone says good effects, v2 is better due to depth gw ;)
