Is it possible to use color balance twice in an image?

Hey, I'm new at photoshop and I'm trying to make a basic sig with an abstract brush. I brushed the first part and used color balance on it, then made a new layer above and brushed it as well. But i want the newer layer to have its own color balance, but if i create a new colorbalance, it effects everything underneath it. How do I make it so it only effects the layer underneath, and not the previous one i already have color balanced

Or group your layers, then it'll only affect the group you have selected.

What do you mean?

And i tried putting one brushed layer in a group along with a cb with it in the gorup. Then i tried making a new group with another layer and its own cb in it, but it still effected all the layers/groups underneath

grouping makes it much more organized too if you want to go back and change anything.

You can do this by clipping masks and Justincredible said.

To do this create your layer with the brushed part on then create the colour balance layer

now right click the colour balance layer and click create clipping mask.

The should be an arrow from the colour balance to the brushed layer showing what the colour balance is effecting.

You can also just put the 2 brushes on different layers, select the one you want to change, go to Image→ Adjustments→ Color balance. It will only effect the layer selected.
