Seems odd... If you can i would try making the effects at the bottom the same color as the eyes or goggles
But other than that it matches your style pretty well

Wanted to make it look like the lighting was fire, hence the orange color.

Oh i see.. alright i guess since when i saw it there was no depth and i was more concentrated on that..
But im noticing the corners look like you've smudged and blurred them? i think there were cracks there on the last one hah..

A little smudge, mostly blurring.

Im not feeling the blurring, try just smudging and burning it and post what you get
