I'd increase the contrast a little and darken in a tad maybe. I like the black and white more.

That too. That's why I prefer the black and white version.

Yeah, colors need work. I'd throw a brightness/contrast layer on the black and white one, and play with it a little bit to bring out the whites some more. I like the text. Not bad, overall, but needs a little something more to give it that wow factor.
