i like the concept. i looked on the site you linked to and the LP looks very LQ. Other pieces look LQ as well, so you need to work on that. Even on this small piece you can see the LQ on the face...
I don't think is LQ, it looks more just like a grainy texture over the face and mic. I might be wrong though. The one thing that bugs me a little is the black jacket he is wearing, it stands out more then he actually does. I would work on the focal point a little more, the first thing I see is the text and then the black jacket. Which one do you want as the main focal the guy or text? One other thing is make the guitar standout a little more in the BG, for the BG is kind of dull it would add a nice look and take up a little more space, but dont make it too strong.
Overall it looks really good just a few things that need to be improved on.
