My First Website

This is the first site I've made. The reason I made it is to use it for my default homepage on Firefox with links to sites I visit frequently, tutorials, stocks, resources, etc. But then I got it hosted and now I'm thinking about turning it into a resource center for all of us. I know the design is simple, but thats exactly what I was trying to do. Keep it simple, yet effective. CnC?

I would make the title a bit bigger and brighter. Also I would have moved the smileys a bit more up so its in the middle.

Thanks for your insight. The two faces are the background image fixed to the bottom left corner. So as the pages shrinks or expands depending on the amount of content, they stay in their place at the bottom left.

For the title are you referring to the gray text above the border?

And yeah I'm well aware of kuler, they had some nice color schemes on there and I actually tried a few of them out but decided to create the one I have now. Might change it though as I develop the site further. It was originally just my homepage, but I want to turn it into a resource center for others as well.

Looks nice. Add more resource sites mayb?

this is awesome yo. how did you do this,was it hard.

You might want to make the scroll box in the creations section a bit wider and longer to get a better view of your work.

@ Joeyy - I kind of like it being the same color as the border. But I'm gonna do a complete redesign so that'll change. Thanks for the tip.

@ Alchemilla - Thanks bro! Did it in html and css, which I just started learning about a week and a half ago.

@ DR809 - Hmm, I've been thinking about doing a couple different things here. Like resize the creations so they're smaller and add a code so when you hover your mouse over the creation a box will pop up with the creation at its full size. Still working on that one though.

What all would you look for in a resource site for Photoshop? The obvious are tutorials, brushes, render packs, c4d packs, free vectors, fonts. What am I missing?

Also, should I go for a dark or light layout?

Just wanted to bump this real quick as I've made quite a bit of revisions. You'll notice that the body of the page is always the same size, no matter the amount of content. The content area also scrolls without visible scrollbars (damn near hanged myself trying to achieve this). Also changed some of the colors and different things in the layout. Any tips you guys have would be really helpful, I love doing revisions.

Not sure what the point of mixing a portfolio with a resource hub is, but I will try to help out with the design.

Basic design: You have a good width on the content to accommodate varied screen resolutions which is good, but you have to remember to make sure all your windows stay centered within the window itself. If you take your browser and make it smaller, you will notice that the top text centers itself, but the body, and background do not.

I noticed that at the very top, and bottom of your content, you added a grey background to match the main one, but when you scroll all the way up, or down, it starts to cut off parts of the main background. As for the background itself, what is the purpose of those faces? They do not say inspired to me, something more along the lines of, I thought they were kinda cool so I added them. And the word INSPIRED on the right, shouldn't be put there if it gets cut off on a wide range of browsers.

The colour scheme is decent, though there is something odd about the blue, I would try looking at a more aqua colour to try it out, it just seems off to me, though the red looks good.

As for the content: Don't overload your home page, just have enough to tell people what is on the site, without overloading them. I tend to try and keep it small enough that noone will have to scroll the main page. As I said already, I don't understand linking to all these resources, especially when you didn't make them. And, your gallery page, it is decent, but try to maybe put a little caption with each picture, not just a date. You know, maybe what inspired it?
