Personally i don't like it, the focal seems rather unclear.
Also, what is that classed as size wise, it doesn't look like a vertical or horizontal :confused:

the bg needs some more work imo
hm might look better if you blur the background abit and maybe remove some of the blue sparkles on his face :P
Great feel and atmosphere. My biggest suggestion would be to add some effects around the render, and blur the background a bit.
I like the glow were getting from the shoulder nice affect ^^
