The reason why I picked this artwork was because of the overall composition of it. This artwork makes you, the viewer, feel like she is looking at you. This makes you feel like you are part of the work also. I also love the proportions they are spot on. Nothing looks skewed or miss placed. And the lighting adds a dark/mysterious mood to the artwork.
