I like this one much better, it looked like he got a Tron picture and did some wierd ugly effects in the back, I think you should have won..
But thats just my opinion..

the lightning looks wrong IMO.
If I look at the render then I would say that the lightning is comming from the upper right corner of the sig. So you have to darken the left side of the sig some. It looks like you've created some lightning there... I would remove that.
You made a good focal point. The face of the beast takes my attention directly :)
I also like the colors you have used.
The text looks ok to me though it could use some work. Personally I don't really like the font.
