These are a bunch of gaming sigs i have made for myself and others. As you can see I used to play alot of halo. Most of them I try a new Technique to make them different unless requested otherwise. I also like to add things to the sig that mean something to the person Iam making them for. There are earlier ones but they are even crapier than these ones :D As you can see I like to play with the text .
C&C please.
most of these look like a render over an image, no offence.Try looking up some tuts, but remember to follow and experiment with your own style. I like the first one though, kinda reminds me of those horror games i dont know why but it does lol.

Here's a few Tutorial links that I think might help you out at your level:
thanks for the comments guys. I have only used basic tools for most of these.
and they are mostly render over an image (or several) like liquid says.I did cut most of the renders myself (not johns, darks or reds. they supplied the images) and done a fair bit of adjustment on the images.
And Thanks for the links fork.
I have been through some of the tut section also and will try some new stuff to post up here. The sigs you guys have are alot different to what I have been exposed to , hopefully I can make something a bit better.

I'm looking forward to seeing your progress. Effort is key, and it seems like you have that. If you cut so many renders, perhaps you could share them in the render section of the board?

It's the thought that counts. By the way I'm digging your current sig. Very interesting.

It was based on a tut I found on this forum, this is the second version the first one was to suit a black background which it looked really good on. There was a fair bit of touch up on the edges of the cloud to make it look ok on the light background.
