I did this kinda following, kinda not, Radillac's Tech Dragon Tut. I added some stuff. Did some different stuff. What do you think?

That's exactly what you should do with a tut, add your own touches to it. You keept the best thing from the tut, the colors :D

But as said above the render could use some blending. One way to do it is using a 5 pix soft brush at 30-50% opacity and smudge the renders edges just a tad.
