Haha I recognize that stock :P
I think the effects look really great, love the flow of them.
The text is a little hard to read over that black spot and off to the right. I think a clipping mask would work better than the overlay.
Biggest problem is your render is not blending with your background. At all.
The blue in those buildings is standing out for me more than the focal. You could maybe desaturate the stock and blur them for a bit of depth.

Keep it up King :]

Now that I think about it, my monitor isn't as bright as it should be, so it probably looks fine to everyone else. :P
