they both look really oversaturated, you also need to make a refined lightsource on the first one and tone down the lightsource on the second one. kiu

the border on the first one looks super cool with this image cuase it does give the idea of robotic or stainless steel, thats my opinion anyways :D

As said above , your lighting needs a little work, try playing around with the filters under render-lighting effects. as well as other-highpass, those usually help me get on my way to deciding an helping me make a light source ^^
