i dont think that works here, theres something at the very front, but its all blurred out now

I think its pretty sweet!
Although, I think you should have used the canvas size he suggested, also there is a bit too much over the actual man :/

Meh, shaded lighting, don't like that. The idea is good and if the lighting/highlighting was proper it may be very good, but as is I don't like it.

the whole point of the tut was to understand focal, so you need a little more practice with blurring and sharpening and addnig the lens to create a real focal. Good attempt though
