Need major help

I was fooling around and wanted to make a heartbeat for a sig (now my idea will be stolen ) I'm not to good at the pen tool , made a nice curvy line and all but how do i get it to make a stroke or am I going about this all wrong???I just wanted to make the life line U se in the movies on the heart rate monitor. Please help if u can

just click, don't drag. Should be easy. Make sure "work path" is checked and not "shape layer". Then right click and click "stroke path" check out b][g k's tutorial on pen
