focal seems too dark and blurry and lq . try bringing a untouched copy of your render and re blend it in with gradient and your light source . and maybe a few effects added wouldn't hurt either gl and kiu .

I can't see the focal very well and I wish it wasn't so dark.

I added a bunch of re-works to the first post; the latest re-work (#4) is the one that I like the best so far. I'm off to bed though; please leave me some crits and suggestions to make it better so that I can get right to it in the morning! :)

MEH! I already gave CnC once, the blend is okay, not great. The text placement seems fine but it doesn't seem to really fit into the signature. The lighting doesn't really make sense in terms of why he is so bright but the background isn't. Not a lot of effects. A lot of empty space. The render doesn't really fit into the signature well, looks like he was just randomly pasted there and he just looks bad in terms of it seems as if he got cut by a sword near his elbow. He mustn't be a good ninja. Also why is there a light coming from the knife? Is he playing with magic? Maybe it wasn't a sword ... he might just be suicidal and/or self destructive with his own abilities.

I'm not in a very good mood, and I liked that design a lot; I thought it was at least halfway decent, and you more or less just told me that nothing about it is good. So, excuse me if I'm not very cheerful.

Meh, read some tutorials and it will get better. If you like the design that is all that matters.

And would you rather me edit my post saying it is perfect in every aspect of the word?
