I'm relatively new to web coding, and I'm putting together a portfolio (seriously this time!). I want to know what I should use to make it happen. It will be small in terms of size completely white and rather minimal. XHTML and CSS seem to be a popular combo, but I haven't a clue how to either. What should I do?
Hoping 43'll give this one a look...

PHP is server-side programmin language so you don't need that right away and on my opinon xhtml is bit complicated so srew around with html and make styles(css) there

Umm. . .for the basics, all you will need is html and CSS. CSS is extremely vital, and it can be the key to a smooth running, fast loading site. I strongly suggest you research that. 43 is kinda experienced with it but he gets really REALLY pissed off at it sometimes >.< lol. It can be very frustrating.

You can always read sites like www.htmlbasix.com and learn somethings from there but that will take a bit of time to get good with html
