i like 1st one also. But somehow i dont like colours of render [ but nah xD its awesome piece of art ! ]

Smudge is my best and I love to do it.I like your smudge style,let me give you a tip,next time try making few layers of the render,smudged little bit the sides,then put some clean render beneath them,erase to clear the focal point,ad some c4d to your liking and some clipping masks.With those smudge settings of yours it's gonna be sexy.

Just a hard round brush, a bit angled (around 30 - 50) and roundness to around 50 (45 - 55)
then to shape dynamics for size jitter and minimun diameter to around 50 too and scatting also around 50. That's it =P
