Yeah I agree, I have recently started PS again and is slowly learning everything from scrap, so far I can't seem to master a good background effect so I am practicing on black BG at the moment and mastering my smudges again and effects with c4ds slowly.

yep maybe sharpening>blurring>sharpening would make it better...but its more appropriate if you will put a more HQ effects on it
