First I'd try make the smudging more layered and more detailed ^.^
Than throw in some nice lighting effects. Like fractals, soft brushing, smudge layers on linear dodge etc

I believe the tag would look much better if you remove the border.
I suggest you to enhance the fractal. Make it detailed, enhance the light.
Add some contrast, especially to the back drop.
Add a tint of warm photofilter to the tag, because it looks lifeless at the moment.

Make the stock appear to be releasing fire.
Manipulate the color of the backdrop. A warm shade would be most suiting. For eg. Red, orange, brown.
