It's way too monotone imo. I think the light source covers too much of the background as well. The smudging on the left side of the render kinda ruins the light too.

I think monotone style is coming back...

With time and experience you'll find colors become more interesting. It's easy to mono out a sig but when you start getting a feel for colors you'll appreciate them more. :)
