Smudging is good, perhaps a bit boring. I like how it goes from dark in the bottom to light at the top as that's obviously where the lightsource is coming from when you look at the focal.
Perhaps add some more effects or smudging with a different brush of some sort to give it that wow factor. Then again you might have been aiming for simplicity, if that's the case; good job.
