C&C First time I've ever tried anything like this :)

Looks good so far, but you could work on blending the character with the background and also work on your lighting as well as creating some depth. I like the position you the render is situated. This is has so much potential mate, just keep at it...it'll look really good if tweaked the right way.

Definitely needs some depth, maybe some slight blurring around the left and right sides. Lighting and blending need work too. As Bubbles said, good start, but it needs some more.

Render isn't blended enough, try bringing some of the background elements forward so that small area's of his arms are covered, it will make it look better then.

The blue light looks better than the red(red has really dark black patches.) However they both stop more abruptly than light should, it should be a softer more gradual finish.

Lastly i think you could afford to crop it a bit, you got lots of vertical height but not much going on up there.

Needs better blending and depth.
