i would start by telling you to harden up on your smudge strokes m8 there too soft and makes it look blurry .
practice a bit on a blank canvis and mess with difrent movements of your brush , and do this with opacity at 100 or at least 90 cause any lower u smudge will look like u have now . blurry and also lq ., also u need a light source i don't see one . the cliping boarder id say is over used , but if its u style just try to do more with it . and try using dodge and burn for u depth .. hope this helps best of luck if this was u first ,. nice attempt but keep working at it and folow some tuts if need to . or just mess arround in photoshop .

I notice that I can see the actual smudge line, sharpen your smudge and dont ruin the girls void.
