Well mine actually has alot of meaning (even though it may not sound like it does) my name is Ricky Ryan Day as most of you know and i chose nextday or nxtday for the soul fact that i am the next 'day' in my family i also chose it as a amount to the rising sun starting off fresh and anew (since i was new to graphic design when i chose it) anyway thought id post that ^^
Hayato is my name but it means Haya=Quick or Light TO can mean many things but it means person in this case so I am Quick Person. As for Zen it is for Samurai as only the samurai believed in Zen Buddhism. Samurai Fan w00t
Catalysts are usually used in science to improve the rate of reactions, it means I can get stuff done fast, they usually give off heat so they are very hot, so a cold catalyst is sorta ironic.
I chose mine simply because i used to be able to own anyone at any game period. But now since i started gfx work i have almost stopped playing entirely. It is also my universal sn for everything that i am on.
Shurai is a take on Shuurai which is "lightning strike"

my first aim screen name was "budnutt123456789" which i got in second grade. That was from my very well known by all my friends, family, and even teachers, "bud" and a goalie for the pittsburgh penguins at the time, Ron Tugnutt. I was playing goalie at a game for the neighborhood block party, and my dad put the two together, and budnutt was spawned. I added the 1-9 because i like dragging my fingers across the number keys lol. In about 6th grade, i did a summer camp, and met my first role model. Not really a role model in every sense of the word, but it was one of the first people that i really identified with, and his screen name was XtremeRunnerJC, so i took that and put ARS on it, just how he had his initials, i had mine.
Mine has no meaning wahtsoever. I was signing up for a mafia game, didnt know what to call myself, and one of my fav number/letter combos was X17, just sounds cool, so i did illegalx17. I donno why i keep using it.

Well i guess also because i am attractted to the underground crime world and all things illegal pretty much :p. My bud just got back from peru and brought me a switchblade, freaking awesome. I might mug somebody :)

:) I also have a pocket knife that is illegal because it is larger than the legal limit for california for a folding blad(3 inches)
well the reason i chose mine is because one night i had a dream of a villian robbing some store and i was about 8 so thats how it came to me, and i still have those dreams....lol

i had gone through so many screen names that i needed a solid name that wasnt lame or done before (Death Hawk, Taco, Garden Friendly, Jesus, Core), so i was trying to think of a name when i was joining a forum, or a new Bnet account or something, and i was reading a book. the first word that caught my eye when i looked at the page was "undertone". ive been using it for i guess a year or so now, and ive really grown attached to it.
There's actually quite a long story behind the name XRedBlazeX... and if you search google (to date) for XRedBlazeX, the only search results you'll find are all me B) .
I don't have enough time to write out the full story, and most of you probably wouldn't care to know that much about me, but here goes the short version.
RedBlaze
I had a friend, who I even today consider to be one of my closest friends ever, and one of the greatest and kindest people I've ever known, living in Chester Virginia by the name of Michelle. We only saw eachother only on rare occasions, due to our distance (I live in the Chicago suburbs), but we talked pretty much every day either over AIM or over the phone. One random weekend, I think this was during my 7th grade winter or so, I was talking to Michelle and she wanted I and some of her other friends to play some silly game in Internet Explorer. I don't really remember what it was, but I agreed because even back then I had nothing better to do, and so I checked it. One of the first things I noticed was that you had to register an account, and I asked her what my name should be. We spent a couple hours (it seemed like it anyways) talking about what our names should be, untill she decided on Redblaze for me and I decided on Steel for her. I didn't really understand why she came up with Redblaze as my name, but she said it had some special meaning and that she'd tell me later.
Well, she never ended up telling what Redblaze really meant because she killed herself some weeks later. Her death started a "dark phase" of my life that I normally try to forget about, but in her memory I've always been known as Redblaze since that game. I'm a living tribute to the greatest person I've ever met.
The X's
The X's were added on later, back when I played Lineage (a MMORPG). In Lineage my main character's name was RedBlaze. Pretty simple. I wanted to make a few more characters though, and as the Lineage customs dictated I created XRedBlazeX and ZRedBlazeZ, the X's and Z's looking really cool in the font that the game used. Awhile after I quit Lineage I installed AIM again, after not having used it for awhile, and since I couldn't remember my old password XRedBlazeX was created. Then, to reenforce the X's, for the past 2-3 years my friend Justin and I have started a Starcraft clan every summer named 'Clan X' and we used X[name]]X as the clan's tag. After the first couple of these clans, the X's were pretty much a perminant addition to the name
Ok, so it's not so much the short version as it's a shorter version of the long version...

Unit_Number_43
was sort of orwellian in it's inspiration. I was looking for a name that symbolized inhumanity and oppression of creativity. So I had this visual of a factory line, pumping out robots. And each one was numbered "Unit_Number_45920....Unit_Number_19238". So that's where that came from. I have alot of drawings/paintings i did from that same time of robots committing suicide, all titled "the robot is aware".
The 43 is absolutely meaningless. It happens to be one number off from the answer to life, the universe, and everthing (42), and it also happens to be my two favorite numbers ( 4 & 3 ). I'm sure both of those played a factor at the time, but the number itself holds no specific meaning.
now unit number 43, i love your explination, that is sooo... orwellian!!! i love it!!! For some reason though your nick always reminds me of Farenheit 451, buggered if i can figure out why, just does (maybe connecton of unit number to the fire station unit number.. just dont know why).
As for mine, well I'm a massive sci fi fan, not realy a FAAN, but am a fan. Havta live in america to be a FAAN, but if i did then i would be a FAAN. Well one of my fav. older authors is Harry Harrison, who wrote a series of small novels about the Stainless Steel Rat. This and a couple of other books with titles on the theme of steel this or metal that, i came up with metal skin. Sorta what you gotta have now a days.
I also started a company called Metalskin, its officialy called MetalSkin Pty Ltd. I got the domain metalskin.com so it's logical to choose metalskin for my nick :D

I was thinking about a new name for a forum I was registering at ( http://forums.pagemac.com ) as before I'd just used my school username (ligdf). The "Brown" comes from the fact that I have Brown Eyes (Well, hazel, but... "Deep Hazel" - dont sound that good does it?), and the Deep was just random.
She and I were both 13 I think, something around that. However old you are when you've just finished 7th grade hah, I'm not sure I haven't slept.Quote:

Tomiro is a name I thought up off for a character I drew, I end up using it. ^^;
When I was small dad kalled me gugge luring, its like gygge lurker on english. And i thought it was kinda funny so now i allways calls myself gugge over the web
I chose Relentless because It meant copying my friend's site name.
I used to be whatusername here and I had trouble creating a name :P.
my online name was originally stubob747... which was for stuff like runescape and shit. it was my nickname for everywhere since i was like .. 6 or something because my name in short is stu so bob was an addon for ...just for fun basically. it became too personal of a name and i preferred something more.. not me like a tag name for graffiti (you're never going to use your name or your nickname which is noticable by most) so whilst playing enemy territory i got bored and was messing with my name (which fucked up my splatter ladder scores) i came up with "dead" but it was too short for most other places if i wanted to keep it for everything else... so i tried deadload for something like it wasn't going anywhere but with it being a game ... and i owned on it :P it was meant to be ironic but once again i changed and i came up with deadloader because well the name could be split up into 2 for short either "dead" or "loader" and also mainly because when playing the game ... bang bang *DEAD* kachut *LOADER* :lol: HAHAHA nice little story eh :lol:
Infidel..... well i remember having a conversation with my mates about what name i should have.... i ended up flicking to a random page in a dictionary and reading the page until i saw a word that caught my eye.... infidel just happened to be it :D
It also fits me well as i have no religios faith lol (which is what infidel means)

Came up with my name when registering at KGS (Kiseido Go Server). Go is an asian board game. The word is Japanese, but it was probably invented in China, like, 4500 years ago or something. Now you don't have to ask what Go is. ;P
My name mean "dog with rabies" in Swedish. I like it since it's very original and you can remember it easily. So, actually I should be called Rabies instead of Rabie, but what the heck, who cares. ;D
