Wow, thats nuts. Didnt that cafe place close? You'd think a place like that has a closing time, or at least a limit on the amount of time you could spend at a computer there. Its sad when people get to that point, its that kind of story that gives games a bad name.

Korea is more big on MMORPGs... They dominate the GuildWars world untill the late evening, which is probably when they go to sleep lol. But yeah, in the US the highest level character back when I played Lineage was 54-56, while Posideon in Korea was 76 (the highest level character ever).Quote:

Anyways In Japan, People sometimes dont go to school just to play vid games. They stay in their room for 9 hours, go to sleep, eat, then play again. Its crazy. But 50 hours is unheard of...
9 hours isnt THAT long... ive played for that amount of time before :).

yea its actually quite sad, because what do you think these kids grow up to be? nothing in life usally because there mind is stuck in a phase (video games) and they cant snap back into reality im guessing alot of people go into mental hospitals each year, i remember reading an article on halo 2 that bungie posted, and quite sad, because it invloved a 8year old, and he was playing halo 2 every day for 12-18hours and one day his parents went in his room and he wouldnt reponed, or nothing and thats the day they lost there son for ever because his mind is so crupt now that he will never been the same, so they had to submit him into a mental instiutue.

OMFG i didn't know it was possible to play video games for 50 hours straight. Well i guess it isn't. I used to play videogames a lot (just look at my name) but I never played more then 10 hrs. I also nvr skipped school to play halo. I swear ppl are taking videogames way to fucking seriously.
well they are getting so relistic its hard not for them to put aside real life from the game.. and its only going to get worst with the gaming world advancing so much everyday like within the next 10years i read this in a magenize, but within the next 10years video game grahpics and gameplay will be so life like it will be hard for the Gamer to tell the difference.
this topic sums up my life... i have spent the past 5 days... well you could say that but i go to bed at 9-11am and wake at 7pm and just play games or go on forums but i'm starting to get sound effects in my eyes and i keep seeing stealthers going past me with guns.... :blink:
it gets boring but i have playing games straight i completed ffx and 9 in 1 day at one point because i was bored shitless but this guy would have most likely had some sort of heart/brain condition like epilepsy which i think it was the 1337 way to comit suicide so good on him shows how "1337" he is <_< gives a bad name to games for sure... they have a fucking playstation lock in the stores near me which have timers for 4 hours then it just switches the ps2 off completely for 24 hours.... and then it's available to play and it also has a lock that parents can use i suppose it's good to time yourself but seriously if i was playing ff7 or something it's be like this... (drawn in like 5 minutes not including poorly drawn ruler lines :P )

sw36, didnt the guy know that everquest carnt be beaten because it neverends. oh and deadloader good job we got ours before the lock but if you get one after its not that hard to take it out i have heard. but meh, as it says on the planetside thread, a 15 year old kid died while playing planetside on the 13th august 2005, his friend said that he thinks it was a heart attack but he aint sure, the people on the planetside forum all gave rescpect no matter if they were friend or foe, and some said at least he died doing the thing he loved so much, and on the 15th august there was a memorial service held ingame to pay respect to him.
Alright. Being a Hardcore gamer..i feel i have to say somthing.
First i would have killd my friend for selling a sword of mine.....that is just wrong of the friend.and he deserves to die.
when i playd D2:LOD i would play 3 days straight..just to do it.
With WoW i playd at max 2 days straight....
And being addicted to video games in noway makes you a nerd...if you are dumb enough to call people who play video games nerds......well you need to go out and take a look around......the video game industry is almost as big as the movie industry....and it is still Reletivly young... and it has the possibilty to get Much bigger then the movie industry ever will.
if you havnt noticed. every1 plays video games.....shit even my mom has playd a video game.......it lets us take control and escape into a differnt world.
And most of the Highest Charecters in video games. are people sharing them. every first lvl 60 char on WoW servers is atleast 2 people sharing it. so 1 levels while the other sleeps.....
Koreans are indeed hardcore gamers.....they kick ass at nearly every game. but that is just what they do...
