iPod mini

Well, I'm currently working on an iPod mini,

I also have a short animation of the ipod spinning around..

I'm currently working on cutting/slicing out some holes and extruding them..

(Only display so far)

that looks pretty nice, though you should use actual ipod mini colors...

Um, green is one of the colors, and although i'm not really spending much times on materials right now, it's quite alike, isn't it? (I own one like it).

I think it looks great, so you'll finish the shape first and then render it with the "right" materials? I think it will turn out great :P looks very realistic keep it up mate

Nice, with a hole for the headphones, and osme text. It&#39;ll look awesome, nice job, very nice ^_^

I like it a ton..but why green..its just such a dull color for an Ipod Mini...you seriously need to do Hot Pink as the color..would look tight&#33;

Basically i cut out the holes for the headphones + hold-toggle..

Now i&#39;m going to try to texture the scroll-wheel

nice, i know this may sound picky but in the bottom right of the screen is like a shadow and it doesnt seem to look right there..

anyway, i love it&#33;

yep, i know. It&#39;s a matter of the global illumination with the scanline renderer. (As you see in the second picture, the shadow will only show in certain angels)

It will (hopefully) go away once I render using vray..

yeah, thats what i ment, however i cant see what the veiw is of in the second pic, and as long as you know what it is, thats good

btw, how much is 3dsmax and can you get liek a trial version of the company&#39;s website?

Since someone commented on the weirdish shadow at the bottom right on the display..

I will render the final version using Vray and not using scanline, max&#39;s default renderer.

Here is the same model rendered with the different renderers. (Don&#39;t worry, the only reason the vray-render looks so messed up is because i&#39;m not using vray-materials, the point is that there is no weird shadow)

This simply proves that there is no actual problem with the mesh itself.

umm... disco it is rendered and peksa jsut stick to scanline, vray makes it loook retarded and pixelated

Looking nice mate... I should pull out some 3d stuff i have lurking in the background, but trying to concentrate on my tablet right now...

You wont say that when you see it with vray-mats ;)

i dont use 3dsmax so i have no idea what your talking about but i guess you need different mats for different types of rendering

Yep, it looks very much the same except that that&#39;s the new version, where the menu and the other stuff on the click-wheel are more greenish than gray (which they are on the older version), and that&#39;s also why mines gray :)

Well, it&#39;s all done with HDRI, and i find it quite difficult to get the right amount of light using global illumination.
