KRAZEE have a Question is ur God the Same God in Judinesm ? or no .. because i believe that the bible is related to it ? because we have the same God as the jews .. so i dont think ur God is Diff :D

Allah is the name of the true One God in the Arabic language. In the Hebrew language His name is Eloh, Elohim for respect. Why, my God sent Jesus ( his only son ) to die on the cross of calvary to save me from Hell. Why? Because i cant do enough good deeds or say enough nice things to repay for my sins and get me into heaven. It clear says in the Bible that there is only One and if you dont believe in the trinity the Father, Son and Holy Spirit then you dont have the same God as me!

P.S: You know That Paul of Tarsus, the man who could rightfully be considered the true founder of Christianity, did formulate many of its doctrines, that of the Trinity was not among them. He did, however, lay the groundwork for such when he put forth the idea of Jesus being a "divine Son". he's the guy who inverted the trinity not jesus and not God Did !! go search about it !

I belive in god, but not in the religuos sense.
I think it created the 2 atoms that smashed together to create the universe, and then let everyhting else decided its own fate.
I belive that it is a energey that flows threw everything.
I belive (more hope) that there is a after life , and that if your a good person (not perfect) you can go there and be happy.

Yes, The God of the Jews is the same as the God of the Christians. What does that have to do with the God of the Jews and the God of the Muslims? I dont see how you connect them together?! You say they have the same name of Elohim, but that may mean 'God' but the name of my God is 'Yaweh' meaning The Great 'I Am'.

There are many differences between the two religions and you know these, therefore i cannot see how you would see your God and my God being the same?!. If you still think so then i think your the one who needs to do some more thinking about religion...

Sucked back in already, damn. I never said I don't believe in a "god" I just don't believe in your god. Or really any _ones_ god. I came to my own conclusions about religion, through years of studying different cultures and beliefs. I really feel that to believe in only one is foolish. There are alot of religions out there, and they're out there for a reason. I think alot of religion is tainted by lesser men, which is where you get things like prejudice from. :shrug: I also never assume that I've "found" god, it's a journey I'll be taking my entire life, and learning from.

Well I used to be very religious. I was involved in christanity very heavily for a long period of time, approx. 17/18 years. Mainly was involved in Anglican (Ausralian Church of England) for bout 4/5 and the rest was AOG (Assemblies of God) or affiliated. During that time I studied Theology and was heavily involved in a lot of the goings on. even went to china on an outreach tour disguised as a cultural exchange goup about 2 years after tinamin square happened.

But over the years i started to question what i beleived and why i beleived it. I've always been a very self analytical person. Well I concluded that when all the hype and emotion is taken away, all that is left is trust in what someone tells you and a book which isn't that reliable as a historic witness.

I know you will start talking about the spirit and a lot of other things, but when you remove all the window dressing there just isn't any proof. And this goes for all religions that I have ever looked at, or had someone try and convince me its real.

I am not going to say there isn't a god or gods, but I do beleive that evolution is the best model that explains the evidence and that the evidence doesn't prove any existance of god.

Personaly I like to look at the evidence and then try different models to explain why it is the way it is. i dont like the idea of defining a model and then trying to prove that its valid.

I believe in God for a few reasons. One is the fact that no scientific explanation of our creation makes any sense if you ask me. I'm sorry but if the scientific theory of the "Big bang" is correct, then we came from the same microscopic life as every other living thing on this planet. By some 1 in a trillion chance, non of them "evolved" into us, except US. If you have an apple seed, you cant keep harvesting the apples and planting their seeds hoping for an orange. Doesn't work that way.

As for evolution. Darwin, I must give you props. You somehow pulled a theory out of your ass and convinced half the world you were right. Bravo! Evolution is just a super-exagerated form of adaptation, or natural selection. In my opinion, of course. I mean honestly, if you are telling me, that we came from an ape scratching its ass trying to figure out how to get the ants out of a hole to survive, we're in trouble. Yes I know they found all of these skeletons and crap and I don't deny their existance, but has anyone ever considered that maybe they are JUST cousins in the animal kingdom? I mean, not every species of wolf came from ONE wolf. Different areas have different wolves that have adapted, through natural selection, to their environment accordingly. They get efficient enough to kill their main prey to extinction, or at least in that area, and they either move on to another area, or starve to death.

Religion. Oh yes, the seed of all evil. Don't get me wrong, I am Christian, I DO believe, but in my honest opinion, religion is just a tool of Satan. Someone mentioned that they read the bible when they were ten and decided it was mixed up folklore of some other civilizations or something. Said something about a rumor in a school spreading times 300 years. Well, if he's right about that, then who's to say that couldn't be the same story as with God? I mean, most common religions focus on one god. Some are polytheistic, but most these days are monotheistic, meaning they worship one god alone. It seems to be a fight to see who's right on this issue. Which I am not getting involved with. Because I believe I know the answer for myself.

I've seen the phrase, "What has God ever done for you", pretty often. I'll tell you exactly what God has done for me. God gave me life, God gave me good health, God gave me all the perfect opprutunities, God gave me the chance to be successfull, God gave me all of this without asking anything in return except to acknowledge, and honestly believe in the fact that he gave his son, Jesus, to clean us of our sins, and to spread the Holy Ghost to each and every person on this world. Thus releasing us from all evil we may contact in our life. And if you are saying, yeah right god hasn't given you ALL of that. Read this joke:

The point being that God does not expect to hold our hand through everything, thus proving the point that someone had about our own free will to do as we please. We just have to open our eyes and our hearts to God to understand all of the things He is doing for us, and make the decision to take advantage of them.

So, that's why I personally DO belive in God.

I doubt it very much. I suspect that both of you already beleived in your respective religions and then heard from others all the arguments both for and against creationism/evolutionism.

If you believed your religion, not from logical conclusion but from another means, then the chances are you will not be totaly self analytical and place yourselfs in the role of a person who doesn't beleive. If you were, you would see why some of your arguments do not hold weight with someone who doesn't believe, especialy when that person asks for a logical discussion about the proof of a god, let alone the choice of religion that you beleive in.

I doubt if many will read the article but there is one theme in the article which I totaly agree with. If someone came to their belief system, not by logical conclusion then no amount of logic, regardless of the evidence, will convince them otherwise. In addition, those people will use methods taught from fellow beleivers tools which they are told are good for arguing their case. Often however, their arguments only sound good to fellow beleivers because they fail to consider how it sounds from a non-beleiver's shoes.

Over and over again, throughout the last 16 years (from 20 to 36) I have found that people who have a religious beleif system didn't come to it by logical thought. And when on the defense about their religion, will not openly consider any logic that may not support their religion.

In debating a theory both evidence for and against should be considered. Unfortunatly people who have a 'stake' in one view, tend to ignore evidence that is contary. This doesn't apply to just religious beleifs, look at beleifs in UFO's, Ghosts, ESP, big brother consipiracy, etc.

Your right i didnt check out the logic in the religion or the theory of evolution, why, because it is just another theory same as religion. But you think when you die, will that knowledge of creationism/evolutionsism get you into heaven or hell. Wheres the logic in the afterlife of evolutionism. I dont see how with our complex beings we can jus die and be buried/cremated. I believe there is life after death and that Jesus dying for me is the only way i can get to Heaven.

Yup Thats what the Jewish guy Said on the CNN show .. he said that islam and judonism are very similar and have lot in common... and we have the same God .. and because the most common thing is that our God dont have a Son B)

Of course he would say that, he would only read the old testament. However when Jesus did come they rejected him... Of course a Jew would say that for they dont believe in Jesus meaning its biased and just as you quote stuff from Islamic scholars which is biased so is Jewish evidence, why, because they dont believe in Jesus.

If you read the Bible you will also see that the Jewish God claims that he has a son. Read the story of Abraham, it clearly says, God will make a great nation unto him, God will make Abrahams name great, all nations will be saved because of him. Although God said these things to Abraham they were fulfilled thru the coming of Jesus as you know Abraham only had 1 son to Sara. And the Jews should believe because God mentions it many times thruout the OT.

Evolution _IS_ adaptation and natuaral selection. That&#39;s what it is... So which is it, do you believe in it or not? Or do you just believe in saying it one way and not the other...

As for the big bang theory. All the disbelievers in the big bang always say "what are the odds that..." Have you seen space? We&#39;re one in over a trillion solar systems, that have been in existance for over a trillion years. How is it unbelievable to think that you&#39;re 80 years of life is just a coincidence. The human species, the earth, even our sun. Their lifetimes will be just a blink of the eye compared to the lifetime of this universe.

And the big bang doesn&#39;t "disprove" a god, nor is it a fact. It&#39;s a theory. Is it so unbelievable that god created the big bang? Do you really believe that when god creates things just appear, wouldn&#39;t it seem more plausible to think that god manipulates things slowly over time. Trees don&#39;t just pop out of thin air, they take years and years to grow... does that mean god didn&#39;t make that tree? I think not.

As for the similarities between Islam and Jeudaism. If you study the three, islam, juedaism, and christianity you&#39;ll see that they basically all start from the same place, the same religion. Slowly they started to branch off, but it wasn&#39;t until the birth of christ that things really went nuts. After that the three took totally different views. So it&#39;s not unbelievable to think that those three worship the same god, however Jesus and Muhammed did change what "their god" wanted from their people, which is where all this "i&#39;m right, you&#39;re wrong" comes from.

That&#39;s right, you clearly stated that it&#39;s a "super-exagerated form of adaptation and natural selection" which it is NOT. It&#39;s just a single word used for the process of adaptation and natural selection. There is no exaggeration to it.

As for the holy trinity, if you go through the the history of the Catholic church you&#39;ll see that they pretty much picked up whatever culture was around and incorporated it as best they could. The trinity came from the Celtic culture in Ireland. HOWEVER this is not to say that it was "made-up". The Catholic church, while trying to convert different cultures, would take symbols that they knew and understood and equate them to the Catholic church. So although the symbols in the Catholic church are not to be taken literally, they are not just made-up (most of them).

Well there was actually, after Jesus had gone back to Heaven, there was Pentecost. Pentecost is where God sent the Holy Spirit to be upon the people of the Jerusalem after Jesus had returned to be with God in Heaven.

Biblical scholars of today, however, have admitted that the phrase "... there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one" is definitely a "later addition" to Biblical text, and it is not found in any of today&#39;s versions of the Bible.

It can, therefore, be seen that the concept of a Trinity of divine beings was not an idea put forth by Jesus or any other prophet of God. This doctrine, now subscribed to by Christians all over the world, is entirely man-made in origin.

The very concept of religion was pretty much just invented by cave men to explain things they couldn&#39;t understand: how the sun rose and fell, how the wind worked, the different seasons, etc. That is the only reason why people even consider that there&#39;s this "god" or "higher-power" out there today. Still today though, people are doing the exact same thing. They&#39;re saying that there&#39;s some god out there, and that that explains how the universe was created, what happens after we die, etc. In a few hundred or thousand years, will the human race understand how the universe was created and what happens to us after death? Probably. Will there be religion then too? Probably. People will come up with new problems that they cannot solve, and use god as their answer.

To each their own opinion. I personally don&#39;t feel I have to argue about this anymore. If you are that determined to get the last word in, you may have it. So I don&#39;t believe that Darwin&#39;s theory is 100% correct. Does that make me ignorant? No. I&#39;ve read about his theory, I know what he was thinking, and at the time, it may have been logical. So yeah, I don&#39;t really care anymore. Good day. :)

EDIT:BTW, I don&#39;t think this thread was such a good idea after all... This is the crap wars are made of. Arguing over who&#39;s god is the right god and if theres a god. So I guess until we die, the unbelievers won&#39;t know for sure. Let me leave you with this:

God, whoever he may be to you, whether it&#39;s monotheistic or polytheistic, I beleive is all the same person/thing on a whole. In the Bible it says that you will only suffer eternal damnation if you DENY the name of God. So I believe, if someone has never heard the name of God. They cannot deny it. Therefore still being saved from banishment from heaven. To those who do deny God, please reconsider. Even if it&#39;s not the Christian God, it makes you feel so much better about who you are and everything you have in the long run. Not like you have anything to lose if you do practice a religion. Right?

But its not just an excuse or reason for unexplainable events. Things recorded in the Bible,Qaran,Torah have been proved to be historically true, such as crucifixions and public executions in the Roman empire. For example, the place where Jesus and the two other criminals were crucified "Golgotha" (Skull rock) is still standing and can be viewed today therefore there must truth in what the religions are saying....

There is lot of evidence that the stories of the Prophets are True .. like Noah&#39;s Ark which they found in Turkey .. or the demolish of sodom ..which is now known as the Dead Sea or near the dead sea and other more .. these all cant be a coincidence ... its hard for ppl long time ago to know everything or make up things like that .. and write a book about it .. its not logical for me that is :D

So they&#39;re historically true... that&#39;s believable. There WAS a man named Jesus, and he WAS crucified by the Romans because he DID believe that he was the son of a god.

Legends and myths are often passed down for a long long time. What if today somebody claims that the Loc Nes Monster talked to him, giving him 10 holy commands. Some zealot somewhere might start a religion based on this whole incident. What if 100 or even 1000 years in the future scientists prove that the Loc Nes Monster really did exist? Does that prove the whole religion true? NO.


The main point I want to get across to you, is that religion is the artificial result of man&#39;s search for answers.

i believe in evolution and science... but there are still too many questions... and thinking bout death scares me....
