i smoked weed a few times with my mates; i never really liked it that much. sure, its fun when you're high but after that it just sucks. so you go get high again. unfortunately my friends haven't grown out of the drugs phase, so whenever they go out to get high, i go swimming or something (training for a triathlon :D).
its a money-sucker, thats for sure. apparently, it also has long-term negative side affects. so i'm now against it.
but the golden rule is, don't knock it till you've tried it.

This whole conversation about your friends and 'certain' situations do NOT proove that it happens to everyone who tries it. I for one did NOT sit at home and not enjoy my high.

I have smoked exactly 2 times. Birthday Party for a Friend, and New Years 2007. Im for it, for medical - and occasional purposes.

The reason why people do it, in my opinon are for a couple of reasons. To fit in, Bad things in their lives (deaths for example), and to feel better (relates to bad things).


I have nothing bad in my life - I have two awesome parents, a sister, and a dog. Many friends, aswell as co-workers and relatives. Which is why I don't do it alot. Its Occasional.

Some people I do know have 1 parent, a death of their parents almost force them to get into trouble and get high - it fucks up their mind and makes them forget the shit that has happened to them. I dont see it as the way to go about dealing with a death, and Im sure that not everyone that a death of a parent or someone close dies that toking is the thing that happens to them. This is just an example.

As for fitting in, Its pretty straight forward. You do it to get in with someone.

So I dont see a reason to live outside of reality. I grew up with weed, for the most part, since I was 6 years old. My neighborhood is ridden with dealers, and thats another reason why I dont continue to try it. I've seen people steal, go to jail and alot of fights happen over weed which is the dumbest thing I've seen happen.

As for culture - Hispanic and blacks(the ones usually generalised with it) who smoke isn't part of their culture. Thats just the media views everyone thinks that, those groups do. As for selling it, its usually the job that is easiest to get in the inner city(where blacks and hispanics are forced to by ignorant people - but thats another topic), as well as the highest paying...but then again it has the most risk.

The reason I smoke weed is because I think it's a social thing. Some people say it's to get approval or attention, but I relate it to this...


Some people get together with friends and go to dinner and to a movie, and then get ice cream after the movie. And they have a great time. I sometimes enjoy doing that. But me, 9 times out of 10, I'll choose to smoke a blunt, THEN go to dinner, the movies, and then to ice cream.

Why, you ask.

Because, when you're fucked up, everything suddenly gets a thousand times funnier, you eat ten fold what you do when you're sober, and by the time the movie is over, you're hungry for ice cream again.

It's simply an activity that changes every thing up. I've been going to the movies for years, so they tend to get boring and whatnot. But going to the movies stoned is always a different experiece.

And I know I keep saying the "movies" but it's just a generalization.

My point being that I smoke weed because getting FUCKED up with my friends is fun. It's entertaining. It's that simple.

People automatically relate drugs to someone who walks round out of their mind and pose a risk to society, when really that is only hard drugs and alcohol.

Cannabis often does the opposite, puts people ina good mood, gets rid of problems and increase the level of enjoyment/funnyness/ and such.

Alcohol isnt pointless, only binge drinking, cause I like beer, so I drink beer. I guess you could say that about smoking and weed, but I know a few guys who smoke, who have told me never to start.

alcohol is def not pointless.. lol that shit is great. can make for a hell of a time.. but yea i stopped smoking weed.. 1/2 cuz i had to get a job and other i just havent really felt the need to smoke.. its like all my friend chew tobacco.. i dont do it cuz i dont need to and its pointless if im fine without it and saves me money.. but alcohol is where its at!

Why not do both? Great feeling, even better feeling, Speed+weed+plenty of alcohol.

Anyway save that for another topic.

Anyone else got any 'reasons' why they think weed is bad? Think we have prooved them all wrong :P

You'd have to smoke a couple pounds of weed to pass out, and something like your whole body weight to die from it. Your Dad didn't almost die from weed, It was some other factor.
