I could be horribly wrong, but I think there's a difference (similar to the difference between NC17 and R) with the AO and M ratings. I know that you can get a parent to get you an M rated game, but I think stores aren't supposed to sell AO games to minors regardless of if the parent okays it or not. Same goes for R and NC17. If a minor goes with their parent they can get into an R rated movie, but not an NC17.

Anyway, this Thompson guy must have smelled a quick buck in suing the industry.

yeah i thought so, although most stores dont carry AO games as most rental places dont openly display their nc17 movies

Well Im sure the recent "hot coffee" stuff helped those against GOOD games try and do more stuff with this AO rating junk. If you dont like the game or whats in it, dont play it, watch it, look at it, deal with it, and anything else you could do with it. I think they really just need to pull the stick out from their butts and deal with it.

As far as the M and AO stuff goes.. And stupid as it is to have M at 17 and AO at 18, it is needed.. Since any game that is rated AO has something to do with sex, its just like any other X rated content and needs to be treated with the same 18+ only rules.

omg how retarded can they get, on the case it has a sign saying 18 on it, well duh isnt that legal. plus all this shit about children being influenced by it, the games are not for children as it plainly shows, on the case is says about it, carnt they read. if you are going to buy it for a kid then dont complain about it afterward dipshits, not only is it stupid that they bought it for them but people can take legal action against them like as people giving alcohol to minors. stop whining and look around you people 80% of the people like gta your heading the wrong way to go against them.
