Are you on dialup or someting? Tabbed windows are perfect for forums, galleries, etc. Broadband users need the quick access of tabbed windows.Quote:

Firefox also kills alot of popups on the spot. I use IE on my brothers laptop and it's painful. IE needs a lot more work done than just tabbed windows.
It keeps things better organized really. I mean, I think a couple tabs would be better then a couple IE windows open in the start bar, its just easier to switch around between open websites.Quote:

Yeah and I also agree with Rahting and Unit, IE is targeted for spyware and adware so commonly, at one point for me opening IE was like opening Pandora's Box and unleashing a wave of deadly popups upon my RAM. Good thing that has been taken care of.

I have to admit, with a middle mouse button, tabbed browsing makes life a lot easier. But at the same time, if you dont have a middle mouse button (eg, on a laptop with only a touch pad) then I find tabbed browsing very difficult to use.
I still use IE, but no where near as much as firefox. I use firefox on two laptops and two desktops. On two of the machines firefox regulary crashes. I'm not certain why, but firefox still has a lot of growing up to do.
IE7 will have an impact as well, as the average user would only switch to firefox to get away from the adware and popup issues, but once they upgrade and IE7 becomes the default, they wont bother changing unless they again have a need. I reckon the average person is very reactive in their choice of software, if they have something that works then they wont change, no matter what us geeks think is better.
Nooo I dont plan on having SP2 installed, I hear that causes more problems then helps. I've heard when it first came out some Photoshop users couldnt get PS to run correctly or something. And how does a middle mouse button help tabbed browsing?

Firefox:
Open in New Tab: CTRL+Left Click / Middle Click
Close Window: Middle Click on tab / CTRL+W
Scroll through tabs: CTRL+Tab / CTRL+Shift+Tab
IE:
Open in New Window: Shift+Left Click
