Well 4 processors x (2.5 ghz)
with a Quadro FX 4500 should do it.
Save Time...spend money.

I am no expert,
But doesn’t the processor speed make a BIG difference?
In this case 10 ghz, (4 x 2.5)?

Yes it does. But you have to take in mind, if the SLI 7600's and 4700 were tested on the same machine (on this test they were), the results would be different.

Since the 4700 and 7600 were basically equal, Dual 7600 (in theory) would smash the 4700.

Ecspecially if the 4700 and sli 7600gtx were used on the same system.


Also...

7600gtx is alot cheaper then the 4700.

In theory, these graphics card are equal. Just a price difference. (as they both support SLI)


Like this whole topic, its all about $$$, macs just flat-out cost to much.

True. Mac's cost MUCH more than an equivalent PC.

So to answer the original question WHY.
Mac’s are used mainly for video.
I use a Mac because I need to use Final Cut Pro, and its not available on PC.
If I were a gamer, I would not be using a mac.

Soon they’ll figure out how to switch between the two OS on one machine! BUT the world will end shortly after. (Because the apple’s temptation did ruin the Garden of Eden ;)

Just get linux and shut everyone up :D
Personally i would rather have a PC, im used to them and im following the crowd really, hopefully wont be long untill i get linux though :)

I use a PC because it is easily upgraded.

Macs are almost impossible to upgrade core components, plus they cost like 5x more than PC upgrades.

Moral of the story:

Linux > Windows > Mac
PC > Mac > Alienware

And yes. Alienware gets its own category because they f'ing suck. :x

Macs really dont have much over windows, in video editing, I dont why anyone even says that. I have used both mac, and pc's for video editing, and I find pc just as good as any mac =P

You already can use MAC osx, on windows. Virtual PC, =P
