i play in E, drop D, C, and drop D flat. Mostly standard though

Well I don't have my guitar yet, but when I do, it will be:

Not a big fan of Fender, as almost every other guitar company had incorporated their body design, rendering it "boring" for me. I'm not to worried about sound either, as I have tried the Les Paul I was going to buy, and despite to weight (which I can easily get used to), it sounds great and looks great too.
Alot of companies have stolen the Stratocaster design, yes. But I think it's still the most comfortable electric guitar i've ever played. Besides Fender makes alot more guitars than the strat. Telecaster, Stratocaster, Jagstang, Cyclone, etc.
It's all in what you like, sound wise. I, personally, hate Gibson's feel, weight, and sound. I enjoy a rosewood fretboard, Neck-Middle pickup, and the mellow sound that the Strat's produce.
Your setup there (epi les paul and marshall amp) will be good for distortion, heavy metal sound.
mmm les pauls bug me.. i can't seem to find my zone with those things.. i'm more of an acoustic guy myself though saying that i only have one.. but i'm going for a 000-42ECB EC limited... if you know what that is 43? it's real nice and i'd suggest having a look see. :)
I play a MetalAxxe wraith at the moment but i will soon be buying a BC Rich Bitch. I love those things.
I dont like rosewood or maple fretboards...I like to have a ebony fretboard with ivory binding.
