If all else fails you can boot from the windows disc & reinstall... they don't demand the admin password for that for some reason...

Well they didn't get their windows disc. It was bought as a package so you have to order the disc sepreatly if you want them but they never knew to. So don't have the disc for their windows.
There's the problem? Has windows been installed fully / at all?
