How is it not an extreme sport? It gets its roots from skateboarding and surfing, the two original extreme sports. You try doing fifty miles an hour strapped to a piece of plexiglass down a steep, icy slope with a twenty-foot-tall jump at the bottom, with an eighty-foot gap between the jump and the landing.
