w00t!!!!! Goin in two weeks for one last go this season. Huzzah
i'm riding a burton floater and i have burton cartels. once you get cartels you'll never ride any thing else.
yeah i know, i go to the one in rosendale i think it's called, or it begins with an R about a 45 minute drive from me :D
Cartels are nice. I also hear good things about Ride SPi's.
43, that sounds like a hella good time to me. No resorts I know of that have all night skiing, though. You must have a kickass boss.
Ride makes a good board. Especially if you've got big feet, go with Ride Fleetwood.
I think Burton is really over hyped. They make a good board, but you can get a better deal from other companies. It used to be that you were paying for quality and not name brand, but Burton is deffinetly relying on their name now. Still good boards, but like I said, you can find better deals for comperable boards. I recommend K2, Ride, Rome. The best boards are european (Volkl and such), but they're very expensive.
Oh, and stay the hell away from Burton bindings, they are WAY overpriced. Ride and Flow are where it's at as far as the bindings. Same goes for boots, stick to K2, Ride, or boot only companies.
I started on a lamar, and bought a used K2 05' Temptation off a coworker. The temptation's a great board, it'll handle anything. At 158cm I can fly down the slope, but it has enough bend that I can ride out a good manual without dislocating my hip. And the pop is amazing, this board can fly. The lamar, in comparison, sucks. But it was a good beginner board.
Sublime,
Yeah, she's cool. The shop is basically run like the movie Out Cold. As long as we handle the customers it doesn't really matter what we do.
Yeah, the hype went a little too far when they opened the Burton outlet store in NYC.
