Whats a border
i use a white border for light sigs and a black one for dark.. the yellow one im using is an earlier one so dont look to that for an example lol..
Jsoosiah, i think you meant, on a signature with no contrast, a dark, contrasting border would ruin the signature.
YOu could have a light sig, with alot of contrast still, and a dark border would work fine.
:P I like cinema borders :P.
I think vector sigs look best with a matching color border, but anything with depth I belive looks best with a black border.
Jsoosiah your third one out of these 3 is the best, but one of the main reasons why is your text is touching the border on the black one. Rarely should text ever touch the border unless it's done like in your 3rd where it matchs.
If your talking about light sigs like you have shown then I would agree black doesn't go that well. But anything with black or dark colors which give a sig depth normamly don't go well with with these kinds of border so then we would be on the same page since you said light sigs. :)
Not all sigs need borders, even dark sigs. Borders are and can be added according to the desire of the Artist. There are no real nor concrete rules, laws or regulations of adding a stroke or not adding a stroke. Nor is there a thickness level or density to those non-existant laws, rules and/or regulations...and one should not feel defied, outruled, outcasted, or jeered for having it on their sigs. Its according to the artist.
To stroke or not to stroke...that is the choice of the artist.
Truer words have never been spoken... *tear* (strokes...)
