Gun threats... yes... shootings...not yet.
wow, im glad i live in a peaceful area'
i dont even think most of toronto is as bad as half the stuff you guys are saying
we had a bunch of bomb threats back in the day.. but now its really quiet... aside from drug dealing that is XDD but really not much threat wise
I switched schools (not because of violence, but because the school just sucked academically), and the school I used to go to was ruthless. There weren't any shootings, and maybe a couple threats a year, but physical violence was outstanding. I remember one time these two kids got into a fight, TWO KIDS, mind you. The hallway they were fighting in had to be shut off from use so they could clean up the blood. That stuff happened all the time at that school. I also remember one time a kid got his face smashed through a window by another kid. That crap's ridiculous.
I live in a nice nonviolent suburban town, so I dont need to worry too much about these kind of things. ;) Occasionally we've had a kid bring a gun or drugs to school, but thats it. However, they keep on saying stuff like this happening in towns like mine, so its kinda scary. And there is that kid in my grade who always spazzes out and yells at people who make fun of him (and there are quite a few of them, because he is rather spazzy, spits on his hands, and sleeps in class all the time) he kinda sounds like a school shooter to me... *shifty eyes*
People in my school deal drugs, no one knows about it apart from a few certain people in school who deal them, buy them frequently so no body but a few of us knows about it so we are safe. There are the odd idiots who ttry it largly and then get caught lmfao no guns or anything happended though.
People just need to chill. Killing people doesn't get u anywhere. I used to get bullied, until I grew to be one of the tallest in the school, and now every1 in school wants to be on my good side :) . I never told anyone cuz it was my own battle. I learned how to handle myself.
You can't blame it on video games either. I'm a gamer and I've never shot a gun at somebody. I've shot a gun but not at anybody. It's the individual and the parents. If the gun is in the house it's easy to talk yourself into using it.
When I lived in the city around my block there were like 3 gangs so there was alot of violence. But my parents were (and still are) doing a great job parenting. I guess growing up in an environment like that kinda keeps you away from drugs and gangs. It builds character. Teaches you how to survive.
I'm only 14 :D and people say I'm so mature and smart. I made it to 14 (almost 15) by staying off the streets and respecting people. I know 14 isn't old but I could be dead if I didn't use my head.
But back to school. I live out in the country now. But the school system is worse out here. Nobody gets shot or got stabbed, but people feel like they can do anything in a nameless town. People fight, sell drugs, drink, and do tons of illegal things. I see people throw their lives away daily. Some kid recently got arrested and is in lock up for 2 years for doing stuff he shouldn't. Another kid has been locked up for 3 years now and he's not gonna get out for another 2.
There's more constructive ways to deal with anger and boredom. Sports, Computers, Art, and Video Games are just a few examples.
I gave one of my friends a speech like this and now he's finished his rehab and he's clean :)
YOu still have to live though man, getting drunk and being a dick is part of growing up and learning about the world aswell as respecting people :)
