Eye for an eye. If you kill someone, you need to get executed yourself. I feel that the death penality is much better than life in prison.
They guys must have been kind of loco to do that though. Must be insane =/.
He should be given the Death penalty but that would be too easy. He should be electricuted raped shot and then electricuted again. If he lives put a bullet between the eyes and rape him again.
Thats horrendous.
I think it's funny to see peoples responses to the "God" thread and then come here see their opinions about this... lol. just funny to me.
Actually, I kind of find this humorous. If I'm not mistaken, during a hearing there are 2 armed police officers at the doors, plus the baliff, and who knows how many more throughout the courthouse. This guy managed to get a gun away from one of the cops, shoot 3 people (give or take) and then get away? He was in a courthouse! A COURTHOUSE! As far as I'm concerned the cop got what was coming to her/him. It sounds horrible, I know. But if you're a cop you're supposed to protect people from dangerous guys like that. You can't even keep your gun in your belt...what are you a cop for? A perfect example of the lacks standards that exist in society today. Judges live with the fact that they could be targets at any moment, but I do feel pity for him/her. The people I feel really sorry for are the court stenographer and the women who's car he stole. They didn't sign up for that crap. The guy was certainly good at what he did though. Everyone has their role to play, and he did his exceptionally well. It's a shame that he has to be put down, and couldnt' be used for something more constructive (like fbi as mentioned above). But obviously he's not big on the whole authority figure thing. He has to be executed or you're endangering the prison population. Not every prisonner is a rapist or murderer either, a lot of them are locked up for selling acid at grateful dead concerts and things like that...so throwing this nutball in with them is just as bad as handing him a liscence to kill. If you believe in a god and an afterlife then this guy will be getting what's coming to him anyway.

You would say that. Have you no sypmathy for the victims or the victims family not just the rape victim but the ones who have to bear the loss of a loved one who were mudered ruthlessly but a criminal who was set to be charged. You tell me, how would you feel if someone raped ur daughter and when the rapist was taken to caught killed more innocent people. You would be very p**** off.
Actually, I said I have no pity for the cop. Who, I believe, was merely wounded and not killed. I also said that I _do_ feel sorry for the innocents involved, the rape victim included. But I refuse to feel pity for people that know what their getting into. If you don't want to get shot, don't be a cop. If you can't keep your gun in your belt, don't be a cop. If you read my post you'll see that I said nothing about being apathetic towards the rape victim, in fact i didn't even mention her. So thanks for putting words in my mouth.
I have no interest in turning this thread into a flame war, so if you'd like to continue this feel free to PM me. I'm always up for debating.
shut up 43..please..this topic was gone about a month ago..why did you bother to post anything?
Personaly I can't stand anyone who shows disrespect for the law, specialy in a democratic country. The Judge rules over legal matters, the police help enforce the law. Regardless of what role the people play, a shooting is a very traumatic effect that can live with a person for their entire life.
Personlay I don't beleive in the death penalty. Its to absolute and who are we to know all the ends of a person life? Many deserve death yet live, many deserve life yet die. Can we give life to those who deserve to? so how do we have the right to take life from those who do not deserve it?
Btw, thats a parraphrased quote from Lord of the Rings :D
There was an recent news article about a son who walked into a prison to see his mother. he is 18. She had been in prison for umm.. 10+ years i think, charged with the murder of her son, who was visiting.
Apparently she had left her husband, he had hidden the child and then testified that his wife had murdered the child. Obviously all false.
Problem is, in some countries she could have got the death penalty. This is the reason why I dont beleive in it. you can never be 100% absolutly certain. Always someone will rort the system, even dna can be placed at a crime scene to mislead investigators.
I agree with metalskin, Laws were placed in democratic societies to prevent people from commiting such crimes. I also do believe that the death penalty is very harsh but sometimes the only punishment considered reasonable for such crimes.
And no #43 i dont wanna debate you. You misjugded what I said and dont want to take it any further
even tho i dont believe him, ghandi had an answer for when taco said "eye for an eye"
an eye for an eye...leaves the whole world blind.
