He was executed and made a big deal because Iraq has oil. Remember Pol Pot? Remember that guy who killed millions of Cambodians? He was under house arrest, until he died in his bed. Only after that America and the rest of the world decided he was a bad man. No one really cared.
Cambodia doesn't have any oil. Iraq does.
Opinions?

You can't just torture someone. especially not when you are meant to be handing out punishments. You either kill them or give them a prison sentence.
People that say he should be tortured, think about it more. He has been sentenced to death for crimes against humanity, would it not be a crime against humanity to torture the convicted man to death?

If they put him in a prison cell, sooner or later there would be a rescue attempt. Many people could probably get killed, since we know that both Al-Qaeda and USA (or whatever) can get pretty rough.
He is dead, and the world will probably be a better place without him.

not to mention the overwhelming cost of keeping someone in prison for life. America throws away billions of dollars a year keeping deathrow inmates alive. and as far as inhumane means...eye for an eye. i think he got off easy.

Executing Saddam won't make the violence in Iraq stop, it will most likely intensify. But his death does bring about a new stage in Iraqi history, for better or for worse. The Iraqi government needs to be strong, so far it's just a puppet of the United States.

I am surprise by Sadam's courage at time of his death. Anyways he deserved it but who is gonna punish America who created Sadam and who brought him to power and who gave him the weapons and forced him to go to war against Iran. Give your opinions on that, much more interesting I think.
