Jesus christ don't get ffx-2. That game is absolutly horrible. I persoanlly hate mission-based games/storylines.
The plot really sucks bigtime. I suggest you just get a greatest hits of ffx. Its not the newest, but its the better of the two ff's released on ps2.
I would stick with psx ff's. They are much much better than the ps2 ones.

ff7 (currently playing) is awesome, just addictive.
ff8 had a kickass story but thing annoyed me
ff9 if u like ff7, its graphics are like 7 but i aint really played 9
ff10 (X) best final fantasy made , not only graphics but i loves everything about it.
ffX-2 sucked ass, i took that shit back to the shop and traded it in, so dissapointing.
ffXI (11) out on pc for a while, i heard they arnt gonna bother releasing on ps2 now but if they do you are required to buy the hdd with it.
ffXII (12) game designing has started , not sure if they have finished it yet and im not sure of the release date but im gonna buy a ps2 again just to play it.
final fantasy imho is the best rpg ever to hit a console, and i love the fact you really get ur money's worth and dont finish it in 15 minutes like some other games.
however my mate did finish 9 in 5 hours haha, and my other mates ff7 and ffX games are both on 100hours+

Ps: i dont think gettin teh latest FF game it the best those, maybe you shuold think about get FFVII and FFIX it have good Story line n the graphic it pretty good.
Hmm... well , i'm definately not getting X-2... i might after i've done X, or another one of them... plainly to see what happens if it's all one big story. I don't reallywant one of the first ones, i'll see how much they cost, shoul dbe cheap for ps1 and all.. i thikn i'll go with X, it sounds the best balanced with graphics/story.

W/e that game sold over 4million copy or something in the usa.
X-2's storyline has about as much to do with X's storyline as....well something that has almost nothing to do with the other thing. X-2 has THE WORST ending to a game i've ever played, and it makes you want to beat the youknowwhat out of the jerk at the cash register who you gave ur money to.
final fantasy X all the way man. Blitzball is better than X2 and it's just a minigame in X...blitzball is a joke in X2
