Quite a nice tutorial you followed there, nice!
why do u post ur work on forums if ur not goin to accept constructive criticism, admit mistakes and learn from them?
ROTD pointed out that the thickness of the glass was a lil too think... u didnt care... now that was gud criticism.. be thankful he took the time to comment on ur work...
John pointed out that the refraction level was too high (well he didnt say tht but thats wut it meant..)
u lied and said u studied glass and it does gay things like that..
well.. not at that thickness... its not the natural behaviour...
and u dint even use the default refraction level.. default refraction is 1... u used 1.33 which does make a huge difference.. u shudave used 0.7 atleast!
and abt digital fish not breathin... omfg man... thats the stupidest shit u ever said...
look at this game for example..

details are one of the most important stuff wen it comes to computer games!
my point it wen ppl point out mistakes it doesnt mean ur stupid.. it means ur human..
bein in denial of it is stupid!
And saying you studied refraction for a long time and then post a simple result from a tutorial off maxons website is bull.
And the refraction of water is 1.33 for those who wish to know.
:D I only wanted the tut for the basic shape anyway, the glass material is better than the tut's (not the water though), and so is the sand, as it happens. So, yeah, i just wanted the shape :)
And the refraction is actually spot on, Maxon's calculations for that tut were a bit off. What people are failing to see about the water's refraction is A) its inside glass and B) its on a white surface, all additives to things such as the fresnel effect and refraction.
do u own a fish tank? or does a friend? go check it from that exact angle and u'll see that u are very wrong.. which ofcuz u wud not admit on the forum though...
u ignored so many other stuff i said like u always do wen ur owned!
all u had to do was say... "thank u ROTD.. but i'm not lookin for perfection.." or "yeh John.. i mustav made a mistake there"
great work, very realizm except the shadow in my home opinion
