i really like both, move the text up on the second cause it sticks out - maybe also try a different font on it and add an inner bevel - hard chisel, 1000 depth 0 size then set the blend mode of the text to soft light
could someone do a tut on these multicoloring techniques cause everytime i try it alays come out bad :(

the only time i have tried multicoloring is by layering 5 different layers and each layer had about 2-3 dif colors on it. thats what has worked the best for me, but maybe thats just me. didnt think of doin it with the lasso tool :P.
