looks cool man, great job. :)
That was a bit of sugar coating ;) Anyway, about the materials. I don't know about you, but I've seen chairs that have been in extremely irregular and unusual shapes. I think that if there's a material that won't work to match the concept, whoever is manufacturing the chair will find a suitable material. The material I will be going for is difficult to describe, but I'll tell you more about that later when I have more of it figured out :DQuote:

Well, it depends what materials you are planning on the chair to be made out of? Because some plastics are very dificult to mold into that shape. I'd also think about leg positioning. Are they stable? To me they look like they may not be. Maybe try to bring them outwards towards the bottom for extra stability. You may want to think about the dimensions of it too. I don't know how big it is, so I may be way off here, but if it's 'normal' chair size, then it looks to be very low to the ground. Low chairs are often difficult to get in and out of, especialy if they are 'bucket' shaped as your design is.
I suggest if you would like to get into Product Design, you register on this forum:

It's very useful and the people on there can teach you a lot.

Yes, you're correct in saying its a low chair. Its meant to be a little bigger than you think, but it is low. If you were to go to a place with conceptual furniture, I can garauntee you'd find furniture there that's made for the design and not for its level of comfortability. Same idea here. I have a lot of things to make, so I have plenty of time to make some things for comfort. Most will be for design though.
I'll post a side view of it later so you have a better idea of how the stand works. You'll see that it would in fact be stable. I'll check out that product design forum, thanks.
Thanks for the comments so far.
Yeah, some chairs are funky

No advertising dude, I suggest you get rid of that link now dude.
the chair reminds me of those designs ppl made back in the 90s and stuff to look futuristic. hehe i guess its good though, cuz i dunno much about the 3d modeling programs
By sugar coating I meant as in when people are just like "yeah, nice job" when it blatently isn't, or there are lots of things to improve. Being positive about stuff isn't sugar coating :PQuote:

And I know what you mean about the material :P I was just checking is all.
There's a concept furniture showroom near where I live too hehe. They have loads of uncomfortable designs....... They look good, but damn are they not nice to sit on. They have tables and stuff there too as well, and many of them are so impractical it's unbelieveable... I see no point in these people making the concept prototypes when it's ovbious that their design is not going to be ergonomic. They just go for aesthetics...
I didn't mean to say that your design would be uncomfortable to sit in by the way, just difficult to get in/out of. I find bucket designed seats and chairs extremely comfortable because they seem to 'mold' to your body figure.
I probably shouldn't have quoted such a big post, and then written a large post myself, lol. Sorry for the people who aren't into reading a lot and have to scroll like madmen to get past all this!
Very Nice
i know i couldn't do anything like this but the chair on the left looks like its floating :S sorry lol just had to bring it up. The rest is really cool!
